Missouri voters made it clear what they wanted in August 2020 when they passed Amendment 2. Even though state lawmakers attempted to dismiss the people’s will and undermine their power last legislative session, the Missouri Supreme Court sided with the people and upheld Medicaid expansion as law of the land.

House Joint Resolution 117 is a slap in the face to every Missourian who voted for Medicaid expansion and to every person who gained health coverage because of it. It is a shining example of how so many legislators in Jefferson City are willing to play politics with people’s lives instead of listening to and taking care of their constituents.

Missourians are sick of being disrespected. We are tired of legislators who think they know better than what we tell them we need. No matter what bill sponsors and supporters say, this resolution is nothing but another attempt to sabotage Medicaid expansion and cost thousands of people their lives.
